I’ve been going through my photos and found this set of Ouch My Face at The Tote. Thought it would be worth sharing.

This set is from a hot summers night (40c) at The Tote, and if you’ve ever been to The Tote you will understand just how hot it would have been inside.

I’d also been waiting on my new flash from canon so i will still using a flash i had stolen from an old polariod camera. It was super bright but had no controll so i was used to bouncing it off the roof to get a softer light. In the heat i’d managed to overlook the fact that The Tote roof is black and full of beams. So i harrassed some lovely ladies for a hair tie and rigged up a diffuser with my cleaning cloth.

I really love the look that i ended up with but i think the hair tie / cleaning cloth combo was enough to scare the band off from asking me to do anymore photos.

So The Croft Alley Project was on last Saturday. What a huge day.

Big shout out to WMSG, DBTC, The Croft Institue and all the artists for making it happen.

Got some good ones in here, including a guy that was almost 100 and came to check out the art. Good to see all ages out at the event.

I finally got around to posting up these shots I took of The Mourning Sons at Public Bar.

It was a good show, they had plenty of energy and on such a small stage it was easy to catch some nice interaction between the band.

So I finally got around to processing the shots I took back in may of Stabbie Stabbie Kill Kill. I was pleasantly surprised with how they turned out.

I think this was the last shoot I did with my old flash, or perhaps the first with my new flash… definitely a transition period. Anyway, the boys put on a great show as usual. This was the last gig with their drummer, so everyone was pumped. They had heaps of energy and it was pretty easy to get some good shots.

A couple of weeks back I shot The Mourning Sons at IDGAFF. Great guys and some serious talent to boot. Check out their myspace to hear some of their tunes (They have an Album on the way).

I’ve shot the guys before so they were cool we me coming along and using them for target practice. It was my first time at IDGAFF, which is a pretty cool place, and I didn’t realise just how small it was. Unfortunatly it’s small, and I was traveling light, only bringing along my 50mm portrait lense.

The stage was framed with these red curtains and their were lamps and all sorts on stage which would of made some great groups shots. I still got some nice stuff.
